Upgrade of the Grinding Process Information Management System in the Flotation Complex

In 2018-2019, Ellatzite-Med implemented a project for upgrade of the Grinding Process Information Management System in the Flotation Complex in the village of Mirkovo.

The integration of the new system includes optimisation of the existing algorithms controlling process components and units, as well as the implementation – for the first time in Europe – of CYCLONEtrac PST subsystem patented by CiDRA Minerals Processing, USA. The system provides continuous control of the final grinding product size in the comminution process.

The upgrade of the Grinding Process Information Management System with the CYCLONEtrac PST system has brought about an entirely new level of grind control, management and optimisation of particle size tracking in the flotation process.

This enables real-time closed-circuit grind control strategies targeting improved mineral recovery, increased grind efficiency, while maintaining or increasing plant throughput.

This project has contributed to improving the company’s energy efficiency, quantitative key parameters and recovery of valuable mineral components. By adopting the new technology, the production facilities became more reliable providing maximum performance precision and increased throughput.

The new system inter-operates with the General Information Management System of Ellaztite-Med AD.
