Geotechmin Group donates books to 17 community centres and 15 school libraries

Geotechmin OOD and Ellatzite-Med AD have made valuable book donations to 17 community centres and 15 schools in Etropole Municipality and Srednogorie region where the companies of GEOTECHMIN GROUP operate. Furthermore, a large collection of books was donated to Svetlina 1921 Community Centre in Slatina District in Sofia, which is Geotechmin’s long-standing partner. ‘The books are provided on the occasion of 24 May – the Day of the Holy Brothers Ss Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture and of Slavic literature. They will be accessible not only to library users, but also to all participants in our creative learning programs, clubs and folk ensembles at Svetlina 1921,’ wrote the community centre’s organisers in their thank-you letter.
Among the donated books are notable works of the Bulgarian classics Hristo Botev, Ivan Vazov, Zahari Stoyanov, Kiril Hristov, Nikolay Haytov, the contemporary writers Georgi Markov, Ivan Granitski, Valentina Radinska, the world renowned novelists Fyodor Dostoevsky, Alexey Tolstoy, Stendhal, Mark Twain, etc.
The donations are part of GEOTECHMIN GROUP’s corporate social responsibility programme Culture and National Identity. It was launched on the eve of 24 May 2012 with a donation campaign to promote arts and literature, followed by various initiatives for enhancing young people’s spiritual growth, cultural development and sense of national identity.
The companies have donated tens of thousands of books written by Bulgarian and world classics to kindergartens, schools and community centers mainly in Sofia region where the Group operates.
