Ellatzite-Med shares its best practices in dual education at “Education+” Forum
Nearly 30 specialists from the company’s Mine and Flotation Complexes share their expertise with high school students through hands-on training and mentoring.
‘The mentors involved in our dual education programme find it truly rewarding to see how students develop their skills and eventually choose to continue their career path in our company. Every mentor hopes to train a future colleague they can rely on,’ said Mrs Milena Hristova, Human Resources Director at Ellatzite-Med AD. She participated in the national forum “Vocational and Dual: EDUCATION+”, organized by BGlobal magazine and the Mediapool website. The forum brought together representatives from various business sectors, educational institutions and government agencies to discuss the future of vocational education and the training of young professionals. During the panel discussion “A View from the Inside”, Mrs Hristova presented the company’s successful practices in dual education and the strong partnership between businesses, vocational high schools and institutions in Srednogorie region and Etropole Municipality.
‘We treat the children as equal members of our team. We understand their challenges, support them and strive to create an environment where they feel valued. Our mentors are eager to share their knowledge and experience because they believe this is how they help build the next generation of professionals,’ Mrs Milena Hristova added.
At Ellatzite-Med AD, nearly 30 managers and specialists mentor students at the Mine Complex near the town of Etropole and the Flotation Complex near the village of Mirkovo. They introduce students to real-world work environments and teach practical knowledge and skills.
A key feature of the model adopted by the company is the specialized training provided to mentors. Before they start working with students, they undergo training that helps them not only share their professional experience but also effectively guide and support young people.
According to her, the connection between vocational high schools, the business community and universities is crucial for young people’s successful integration into the workforce. The company supports students not only during their secondary education but also when they continue their studies at universities.
During the discussion, Mrs Milena Hristova also noted the growing interest in dual education. ‘We see a positive change. More and more students and parents are showing interest in this form of education. Parents play a key role. When they are well-informed about the opportunities offered by the dual education programme, they are much more likely to support their children’s choice,’ she said.
By participating in the forum, Ellatzite-Med once again demonstrates its commitment, together with GEOTECHMIN GROUP, to advancing vocational education, training skilled professionals and creating sustainable career opportunities for young people in Bulgaria.
