Prof. Tzolo Voutov becomes Honorary Citizen of Koprivshtitsa
The town of Koprivshtitsa awarded the title “Honorary Citizen” to Prof. DSc. Eng. Tzolo Voutov, President of
Geotechmin OOD, during the official celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of the April Uprising – an event that made the town a symbol of Bulgarian liberation and national pride. The distinction was awarded to Prof. Voutov not only for his economic achievements, but also for his long-standing support as a public figure and philanthropist, contributing to the preservation of cultural and spiritual heritage.
Prof. Tzolo Voutov received the award from the Mayor of Koprivshtitsa Maria Toromanova and the Chairman of the Municipal Council Dr Rashko Hristov during the ceremonial roll call held at “20 April” Square on 30 April 2026. Prof. Voutov expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying that it was a great honour and a source of personal pride to receive this honorary title on the very day of the April Uprising anniversary. He emphasized that GEOTECHMIN GROUP, together with its companies Geotechmin, Ellatzite-Med, Geostroy and Geotrading, and the Bulgarian Virtues Programme, have supported the town’s development.
He said that Koprivshtitsa is a symbol of the Bulgarian spirit and national dignity, and that supporting this historic town is a duty – to the present, to the National Revival heritage, and to the future.
As a gesture of gratitude and responsibility toward future generations, he donated the cash prize to Evlampia Vekilova Kindergarten in Koprivshtitsa.
Prof. DSc. Eng. Tzolo Voutov is a recipient of the Order of Stara Planina First Degree. He is also an honorary citizen of Sofia, Etropole, Zlatitsa, Koprivshtitsa, Lukovit and Chelopech.
