Geostroy completes renovation of Elderly Care Home in Etropole
Geostroy AD, part of GEOTECHMIN GROUP, has completed the reconstruction and extension of the Elderly Care Home in the town of Etropole. The renovated facility now provides comfortable living conditions and excellent care in line with the latest standards under the Social Services Act. The project was implemented under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. High-quality materials and advanced technical solutions were used throughout the construction process. Each improvement was carefully tailored to the residents’ needs, creating a more comfortable, supportive and welcoming living environment.
The completed works include a general overhaul of the existing building and the construction of a new wing, both equipped with energy-efficient systems, modern furnishings and amenities. The surrounding area was enhanced through attractive landscaping, adding beauty and serenity.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Mrs Nadia Klisurska, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy; M.Eng. Vladimir Aleksandrov, Mayor of Etropole Municipality; Deputy Mayor Ivaylo Georgiev; Mrs Kamelia Mihaylova, Director of the Elderly Care Home; social workers and residents of the home; and representatives of Geostroy AD. The event concluded with a solemn water-blessing service led by Father Ognyan, who offered prayers for good health and well-being.
For Geostroy, this project is particularly important as it reflects the company’s commitment to improving the quality of life for older people and contributing to social progress. ‘In our daily work, we often talk about square meters, deadlines and construction milestones, but this project cannot be measured solely in numbers or financial terms. Behind these walls lies not just a new building, but the belief that the people who helped build our society deserve a dignified, peaceful and fulfilling life. Today, the Geostroy team hands over this building with the confidence that it will achieve its true purpose: to provide comfort, serenity and compassionate care for its residents. This home is a reminder that a society looking toward the future must also honour and care for those who built its past,’ said Geostroy’s Executive Director M.Eng. Tsvetoslav Petkov.
The Mayor of Etropole Municipality M.Eng. Vladimir Aleksandrov congratulated the builders on completing the project on time despite the challenges inherent in every construction project.
‘This investment demonstrates the approach we must take toward the elderly – ensuring they feel fully supported and properly cared for,’ commented Deputy Minister Klisurska.
In an emotional speech during the opening ceremony, the home’s director Kamelia Mihaylova said that they were not merely opening a building, but fulfilling a promise to the people who have worked hard throughout their lives, raised families and deserve to spend their later years with dignity, care and safety.
