Chereshovitsa Hydroelectric Power Plant was built on the River Malak Iskar, in the land of Etropole Municipality.

The hydropower complex includes two water intakes on the Rivers Nevizhda and Negarshtitsa before they flow into the River Malak Iskar. The water mains are made of fiberglass reinforced pipes in total length of 2,430 m. The water streams join together at a point of 233-meter distance from the powerhouse, which is equipped with a hydraulic turbo-alternator. It utilizes the incoming waters and then the waters flow down through a lower channel (penstock) and return into the riverbed.
