Geotechmin and Ellatzite-Med inspire young people at HELLO SPACE | Bulgaria Calling 5.0!
Geotechmin and Ellatzite-Med took part in the fifth edition of HELLO SPACE | Bulgaria Calling Festival held under the auspices of the Minister of Education and Science. The event was officially opened by Minister Krasimir Valchev and the founder and President of The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria Dr. Solomon Passy.
Minister Valchev visited GEOTECHMIN GROUP’s booth, where M.Eng. Tzvetan Dilov, M.Eng. Pavel Nedkov and M.Eng. Petko Penkov from Ellatzite-Med were welcoming festival visitors and sharing their experience in the world of mining and raw materials. The festival has become a key platform for Bulgarian children to interact with international and local scientists, researchers, and industry professionals.
‘Students are curious about the mysteries of space. At Geotechmin and Ellatzite-Med, we are here to show them how metals – formed in the stars – reach the Earth and are responsibly extracted to power today’s technologies,’ said M.Eng. Tzvetan Dilov. ‘It is important for them to understand that the metals inside their phones and tablets have a cosmic origin. This story really captures their imagination.’
More than 80 children from the Мunicipal Kids Complex in the town of Radomir visited GEOTECHMIN GROUP’s booth. The headmaster of the complex, Mr Tony Kirilov, shared that he was greatly impressed by how the Group cares for local communities. ‘You are certainly helping the children from these towns and contributing to the development of sports – these are crucial foundations for raising capable and responsible young people who care about others and their community,’ he added.
Among the visitors to the booth was a group of students and their teachers from the Vocational High School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering – Pirdop. They had the opportunity to learn more about the innovative practices and cutting-edge technologies implemented by Ellatzite-Med.
A special highlight of this year’s festival was the participation of two astronauts for the first time, including Eytan Stibbe, who flew to space leading the historic Rakia Mission to the International Space Station, as part of Axiom Mission 1 (Ax-1).
The fifth edition of HELLO SPACE | Bulgaria Calling Festival was organised by the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria and STEAM and Space Cluster Bulgaria, under the auspices of the Minister of Education and Science, with the support of Sofia Municipality, the US Embassy and the Embassy of Israel in Sofia.
