Ellatzite-Med honours over 700 people with jubilee awards

Ellatzite-Med AD celebrated its 50th anniversary and 25 years as part of GEOTECHMIN GROUP by presenting jubilee awards to more than 700 managers, current and former employees, and partners. They were recognised for their exceptional contribution, professionalism, dedication and enduring partnership, all of which were vital to the company’s growth. Not only did they contribute to the company’s success, but also embodied its core values: responsibility, innovation and care for future generations.

An Outstanding Contribution Award was presented to Prof. DSc. Eng. Tzolo Voutov, President of Geotechmin OOD and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ellatzite-Med AD. He has been part of the company’s history since 1976 and has played a key role in extending the life of Ellatzite Mine – and the company itself – by 25 years.
‘We have achieved remarkable progress over the past 50 years. In the last 25 years, GEOTECHMIN GROUP has invested BGN 1.7 billion in new machinery, technologies, equipment, digitalization, and environmental protection. These results speak for themselves and I would like to thank the 30,000-40,000 professionals who have contributed their expertise to the development of Ellatzite-Med over the years,’ said Prof. Voutov during the awards ceremony. He added that the current concession will expire in 2031, but projects are already being developed with a vision for 2041 and beyond. ‘Our goal is to ensure that you, your children, and grandchildren will continue to have secure jobs, maintain professionalism and share our values,’ he stated.
Prof. Voutov also highlighted Ellatzite-Med’s broader contribution to the economy and society, noting that the company pays more than BGN 110 million annually in taxes and social security contributions, thereby supporting both state and municipal development.
In his speech, he recalled the company’s history and praised the professionalism of his colleagues – from the construction of Ellatzite Mine, through the turbulent years of transition following 1989 when many experts doubted its survival, to today, when the company provides stable employment for nearly 2,100 people.
Prof. Voutov expressed his deep gratitude to his colleagues, to his wife Snezhanka Voutova with whom he worked during the early years of Ellatzite Mine, and to his partners Prof. Velichko Stoyanov and Prof. Dimitar Subashki with whom he co-founded Geotechmin OOD and spearheaded the modernisation of Ellatzite-Med, transforming it into a modern mining complex.
‘Thanks to our partners, friends, colleagues – and to you, for your professionalism, dedication and commitment – we have walked this long road together and achieved these successes,’ Prof. Voutov concluded.

Among those recognised for their exceptional contribution were: M.Eng. Dragomir Draganov, Executive Director of Ellatzite-Med AD since 2015; PhD Eng. Vladimir Vutov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Geostroy AD; PhD Eng. Ivan Vutov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Geotrading AD; Mr Yuli Todorov, Chairman of the Management Board of Ellatzite-Med; Victoria Stoyanova, PhD, geologist; Mrs Keti Kirova, former finance director and member of the Management Board; Mr Dominic Hamers and Attorney-at-Law Lyubomir Valkov, members of the Supervisory Board; M.Eng. Stoil Dimitrov, General Director of the company; Prof. PhD Eng. Rumen Milanov, adviser at Geotechmin OOD; Mrs Stella Vodenicharova, Finance Director; Mrs Emilia Ilieva, Commercial Director of Geotechmin OOD.

Medals and certificates for outstanding contribution were also awarded to: M.Eng. Toma Naydenov, former director of Ellatzite Flotation Plant in Mirkovo, and M.Eng. Kostadin Naydenov, former director of Ellatzite Mine and former general production director. Two employees of Ellatzite-Med also received medals and certificates in recognition of their proven expertise and long-standing commitment to training young staff: Tsvetomir Ubenov, Motor Grader Operator and Stancho Dzhamyarov, Mechanical Fitter.

On the occasion of its anniversary, Ellatzite-Med honoured veterans and current employees, as well as representatives of science, culture, business and local authorities for their significant contribution and achievements, acknowledging the partnerships that have supported the company’s growth.
