On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Sofia Metro, PhD Eng. Vladimir Vutov – Vice President of Geotechmin OOD and Executive Director of Geostroy AD, M.Eng. Konstantin Petkov and M.Eng. Svetoslav Pehlivanov – Project Managers of metro projects executed by GEOTECHMIN GROUP were awarded silver medals and appreciation certificates for their merits in the construction of Sofia Metro System.

Geostroy’s team and the Executive Director PhD Eng. Vladimir Vutov expressed their personal gratitude to Metropoliten JSC, to the teams from GEOTECHMIN GROUP who had worked on Sofia metro projects and to all their partners.

GEOTECHMIN GROUP started operating in the sphere of metro construction in 2005 when Geotechmin OOD was selected as the main subcontractor of the Japanese company Taisei Corporation under a public tender for the construction of Vasil Levski Stadium Metro Station. The next metro station was James Bourchier Metro Station built by Geotechmin OOD as a general contractor and Geostroy AD as a subcontractor on a design-build basis in 2009 – 2012. From 2013 to 2015, Geostroy AD and Geotechmin OOD completed another major project for design and construction of Business Park Sofia Metro Station.

The construction of Zemlyane Metro Depot was also executed by Geostroy AD. Transremontstroy EAD, another company from GEOTECHMIN GROUP, took part as a partner in implementing the construction project.
