Helix EOOD was established in 1995.

On the authority of the commercially viable discovery of Livade ore deposit, Ihtiman Municipality, since 2007 the company has obtained concession rights for extraction of non-metal mineral resources - industrial minerals – raw vermiculite.

The extracted raw vermiculite is transported to the Raw Vermiculite Separating Installation in the village of Gara Elin Pelin where it is enriched by using fully automated production processes. These processes include drying, screening, pneumatic-gravitational and magnetic separation. A number of trials for exfoliation of raw vermiculite and concentrate have been conducted in view of further development of this activity.
