Description of the project:

In August 2008 Geotechmin OOD and the Danish company Global Wind Power concluded two frame contracts for the:

• construction of foundations for wind generators in Dobrich Region – 6 pcs. in Kamen Bryag Village and 1 pcs. in the town of Kavarna, and
• construction of 7 pcs. of foundations for wind generators in the town of Shabla, Dobrich Region

The first project is completed for the period November 2008 – April 2009. The construction and installation works in Shabla are planned to be finalized between July and November 2009.

A hundred and five meters tall wind turbine towers are installed on the foundations with dimensions 18/18/2.7 m. The towers are built in excavations with dimensions 20/20/2.8 m. The wind turbines are model Vestas V90 and have nominal power of 3MW, 1 kV.

Conducted works at the Kamen Bryag and Kavarna sites:

• Concrete works – 7000 cub.m.
• Reinforcement works (steel AIII with diameters 20, 25 and 30 mm) – 480 t
• Installation of embedment rings for erection of the wind generator towers
• Construction of access roads which are 5 m wide and 0.4 m thick, and made of rock material fraction 0~75 mm laid over geo-fabric – 9 km
• Construction of platforms with dimensions 30 х 40 m for the placing of a 750~1000 t crane to be used for the installation of the wind turbines – 7 pcs.
• Installation of power and optical cables – 27 km
• Construction of 1.3 m deep and 0.4 m wide cable trenches – total length 37.1 km
• Excavation works – 9000 cub.m.
