Ulichno Osvetlenie EAD was privatized and acquired by GEOTECHMIN group in 2007. For more than 30 years the company has been engaged in designing, construction, repair and maintenance of the street lighting in Sofia Municipality. Its work also includes construction and operation of electrical devices and low- and medium voltage power lines as well as installation of architectural lighting and lighting for advertisement and information signs.

Ulichno Osvetlenie possesses an individual licence for carrying out telecommunications through an independent mobile telecommunications network. Based on this licence, a stationary control center was created to coordinate the work of a 24-hour emergency service. The control center is integrated into the network of the national emergency number "112".

Investments in new specialized equipment and service vehicles were made in 2010 in order to improve the quality and competitiveness of the services offered by the company. Additionally, a plan has been developed for the introduction of modern technologies for adjustment and testing of advanced street lighting management systems. The main objective is to boost the efficiency of electric power used for lighting.

Ulichno Osvetlenie EAD has adopted an integrated management system which encompasses standards ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007. The company is registered in the Central Register of Professional Builders to the Bulgarian Construction Chamber for building categories ІІ, ІІІ and V.
