On May 22, 2009 micro hydropower plant “Svrazhen” was put into operation in the presence of parliament members, Italian investors and bankers, local authorities and journalists. The plant was constructed by Geotechmin.

It is the second out of nine hydropower plants along the valley of Iskar River, north of the town of Svoge. In the spring of 2008 Geotechmin finished the construction of the first plant “Lakatnik”. The second construction stage of the Italian Petrolvilla Group’s project is planned for the second half of 2009.
