The contribution of Bulgaria – the host country of the constituent Balkan mining congress (September 2005, Varna) – to the unification of mining specialists from the region, to the creation of the Balkan Mining Association and to the success of BALKANMIN’05 as well as the great services rendered to this initiative by Dr. Eng. Tzolo Voutov – a chairman of the Bulgarian National Mining Committee – were greatly appraised.
At the forum it was decided that the third Balkan Mining Congress would be held in Antalia, Turkey from October 26 to October 28, 2009. The Coordinating Committee accepted the applications of Romania and Slovenia for the organizing of the fourth and fifth Balkan Mining Congresses in 2011 and 2013.
