Description of the project:

The project includes the design and construction on a new covered storage for return waste for Umicore Med AD. The total area of the storage is 3 200 sq.m. The walls are 4 m high with built in steel plates for protection against demolition by loading machines. A steel structure which weights 205 tons is installed on top of them. The roof structure and the walls are covered with LT-sheet iron and PVD-screen for protection from the aggressive environment.

• HDPE smooth liner, 2 mm thick – 14,050 sq.m.
• Steel structure – 205 tons
• Implemented steel plates, 20 mm thick – 27 tons
• Demolition of reinforced structures and elements – 14,050 cub.m.
• Breaking of reinforced concrete pieces with a crusher and separation of the construction steel – 14,050 cub.m.
• Breaking of concrete structures and elements – 21,630 cub.m.
• Landfilling of contaminated concrete – 21,630 cub.m.
• Making of an asphalt road within the plant – 1.3 km
• Making of an asphalt platform – 2,100 sq.m.
• Collection, loading and transportation of contaminated soil to a landfill – 4,100 sq.m.
