On 26 August 2011 Geotechmin - Unieco Association signed a contract with Sofia Minicipality for construction of an integrated system of facilities for treatment of the household waste of Sofia Municipality – non-hazardous waste depot "Sadinata".
Geotechmin OOD received a platinum statuette from “Top 50+” awards of the Bulgarian Construction Chamber (BCC), which is given for good practices to contractors, registered in the Central Register of Professional Builders. Geotechmin OOD was top honoured in the category “Structures of public utility infrastructure, hydrotechnical construction and environmental protection”.
Micro hydropower plant "Tzerovo" is part of HPP project "Sreden Iskar Cascade" in which Geotechmin has already participated by constructing micro HPP "Svrazhen" and "Lakatnik".
On December 12, 1990 three mining engineers established Geotechmin OOD to provide consulting and engineering services for the mining industry in Bulgaria.
Since then the company has developed its range of activities to include industrial, infrastructural, civil and environmental engineering and construction as well as real estate development. Geotechmin has also been operating successfully Ellatzite mine – the largest copper and gold open pit in Bulgaria.
Today the GEOTECHMIN group consists of 5 business units, namely Mining, Construction, Infrastructure, Environment and Real Estate and Investment Projects. It is represented by more than 20 companies with a total work force of some 4,000 people.
